Corrick specializes in the assessment and treatment of body-focused repetitive behaviours (BFRBs) and anxiety disorders. His general areas of treatment include confidence and assertiveness, perfectionism, relationship challenges, grief, and life transitions. Corrick also has a special interest in clinical hypnotherapy and the benefits of working with the unconscious mind.

On a personal note, Corrick enjoys mountain biking, throwing pots (making pottery), and game night with his family. He identifies as Canadian and English. He/him/his are his pronouns.

Corrick provides psychological treatment within the frameworks of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Clinical hypnotherapy is utilized when applicable. His approach is eclectic – this means he will draw from a number of theoretical frameworks to ensure that his treatment is matched to his client’s individual needs.

Corrick has a passion for untangling the seemingly complex and assisting clients to gain clarity and progress towards meaningful behavioural change. He has a regional and international reputation as an ethical and skilled clinician, well-versed in challenging and complex presentations.

Corrick prides himself on developing highly effective working alliances. Open and frank discussions are encouraged and are often supportive and catalytic in nature. Corrick works with clients transparently and collaboratively. His approach has been described as directive but not direct. He is supportive but sees value in independence.

More recently, Corrick has combined his voice artistry with animated videos, resulting in a library of self-help tools and learning resources which you can find on his YouTube channel: @drcorrickwoodfin

Corrick has worked in private practice as a treating psychologist and co-owner of Now In Colour Psychological Services Inc. since 2014.

Corrick graduated from the University of Exeter, UK (2000) and has worked internationally in Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. He has been a multiagency and multidisciplinary team member in vocational, health, and correctional settings.

Corrick is registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) and as a non-practicing member of the New Zealand Psychologists’ Board (NZPB). He is a full member of the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA), and Psychologists’ Association of Alberta (PAA).

Prior to embarking on a career in psychology, Corrick trained as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) in England.
