    Katherine specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders and insomnia. She is particularly skilled in working with the interface between anxiety and sleep difficulties. Her interventions often address: emotion management; decision making; perfectionism; people pleasing; procrastination; relationship difficulties; burn-out; stress management; cross-cultural experiences; and exploring and developing creative potential.

    On a personal note, Katherine enjoys riding her bike, working with wool (in any form!), and family adventures. She identifies as Canadian, Kiwi, and Indigenous (Gwich’in). She/her/hers are her pronouns.

    Katherine provides evidence-based psychological treatment, primarily from within the frameworks of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She adapts her interventions to fit each of her client’s individual needs and draws from Motivational Interviewing, Positive Psychology, and a range of other therapeutic frameworks.

    Katherine is passionate about helping people to improve the quality of their lives. Her style has been described as warm and engaging.

    Katherine’s story

    Katherine was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. She completed her undergraduate degree (B.Sc. in Psychology, 1997) at the University of Calgary.

    After deciding to train as a Clinical Psychologist, Katherine re-located to New Zealand where she completed her graduate (M.Sc. in Psychology, 2003) and professional training (Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology, PGDipClinPsyc., 2004) at Victoria University of Wellington.

    Early in her career, Katherine worked as a Registered Psychologist for the New Zealand Department of Corrections and then a Forensic Mental Health Service. After returning to Calgary in 2008, she provided personal, career, and academic counselling to post-secondary students at several local institutions.

    Katherine started Now in Colour Psychological Services in 2012. She and Dr. Corrick Woodfin have co-owned and co-operated this psychological practice since 2014.

    Katherine is Registered as a Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists (#3514) and as non-practicing member of the New Zealand Psychologists’ Board (NZPB, #90-02997).

    She is a Full Member of the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta and the Canadian Sleep Society.

    Katherine is a TMHI Advanced Certified Telebehavioural Health Professional.
